A Consilium welcome to Suzanne Bazire

Dec 22

Joining Consilium as Chief Operating Officer, Suzanne has two decades of substantial experience in the industry. Beginning her insurance career as a Wholesale Account Handler in Aviation and Marine at Tysers, Suzanne then moved to Marsh McLennan, where she worked for five years - specialising in Latin American Aviation.

Five years at Integro/Tysers followed this, which saw Suzanne specialising in Operations for Contingency and Retail Business where she worked as the Divisional Operations Director of Retail.

“Consilium’s global operations are now of such a scale and size that warrants a dedicated Chief Operating Officer.”

James Baird , CEO and Managing Partner at Consilium

As part of our team, Suzanne will lead Consilium operations across all of its people and processes. Working to standardise processes across multiple divisions, Suzanne will help to prime Consilium for our future growth plans, implementing and maintaining a robust yet scalable infrastructure.

As the third new senior leadership appointment announced at Consilium in as many months, investment in future development is stronger than ever. James Baird, CEO and Managing Partner at Consilium, who himself joined the business earlier in 2022, is optimistic about Suzanne’s appointment. He said, “In just 18 months since the Aventum Group and its global Speciality MGA and Broking brand launched, we have successfully attracted leading talent to the business.”

Consilium has a long list of accomplishments in 2022, all breaking new ground in the business, including landmarks such as;

  • Launching DUA Service, eXponential

  • Launching our Professional Executive Risks team in a new Guernsey office

  • Hiring James Baird as Broking CEO and Managing Partner of Consilium

  • Establishing a dedicated, in-house claims team

  • Hiring Nicola Chapman as Head of Claims

2023 will be nothing short of transformational for Consilium as we strive to establish ourselves in new territories and product lines globally. James concluded, “Suzanne’s role will be central in allowing us to scale whilst maintaining high quality control.”

Drawn to what she described as “the infectious entrepreneurial positive attitude” at Consilium, Suzanne is enthusiastic about her new beginning. Impressed by the work ethic of the people in the business, she said, “With a 50/50 gender split globally and an average age of 30, they show diversity in practice across the Group. It’s not hard to see why I was attracted to joining the family.”

In real terms, Consilium is at only the start of what promises to be a thrilling journey. We look forward to the development of our future.
