Claims at Consilium

As Chief Claims Officer, Nick’s specialist classes are Specialty and P&C (re)insurance. With 20 years of insurance experience and 10 years of legal expertise, Nick’s sector experience lies in first and third party risks, covering locations worldwide. Away from work, Nick owns a Trullo - a traditional, cone-roofed, Italian dry stone building, and is working to improve his spoken Italian.

Duncan Childs is Head of Technical Claims and Coverage at Consilium. As a qualified solicitor with over 25 years of experience, he advises Consilium’s broking teams on the coverage provided by all types of insurance products, drafts insurance contracts on behalf of the Professional & Executive Risk Team and assists Consilium’s Claims Team on coverage issues arising in respect of technical claims.  

The specialist classes of risk on which he focuses include Professional Risk, D&O, PI, Crime and Cyber.  Duncan’s sector experience lies predominantly in Financial Institutions, covering the UK, Ireland and various offshore jurisdictions.

Outside of work, Duncan calls London’s East End home and lives on the street Reggie Kray murdered Jack ‘The Hat’ McVitie in the 1960s.

As a Senior Claims Associate, Peter Enguell’s specialist classes are UK and Ireland Property and Casualty. With 41 years of experience behind him, Peter’s sector experience lies in Waste and Recycling, Combined Liability and Property, covering the UK and Ireland. In his spare time, Peter enjoys art and collects limited edition, signed prints.

As Associate Partner in the Claims team, Dan Boughtwood’s specialist classes include Professional and Financial Lines, Executive Risks and Cyber Liability. With 15 years of experience, Dan’s sector experience includes Financial Lines Architects and Engineers and Law Firms, covering locations across the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia. 

As Operations Manager, Hannah has utilized her skills and knowledge over the years to assist in operational improvements within the team to help them grow and provide an exceptional service.

Having spent eight years as a Claims Administrator at The Underwriting Exchange, Hannah spent her first seven years in insurance, before this, at Professional Indemnity Broker, Prime Professions. There, she worked as a receptionist before joining the Claims team.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her two young daughters, her family and friends. She loves to spend time outdoors and one of her favourite places to be is on the Broads in Norfolk.

Claims Technician Apprentice Luke Nash joins Consilium eager to explore the complexities of the industry. Keen to gain experience within the claims sector, Luke’s work sees him covering locations across the UK and the United States. Now in the UK, Luke has previously lived in Canada and away from work is a big Chelsea fan.
