At the start of 2023, Paul Richards and James Baird were appointed joint CEOs, and from day one, their vision was clear: become the most inspiring specialty broker in the world.

Growth, Expansion and Innovation

In the past year, Consilium has delivered an impressive 56% growth, contributing £686m GWP to the Lloyd’s and London Market. Our footprint has expanded across the globe, including in the United States, Australia and Canada, with newly established offices now in the Cayman Islands and Channel Islands.

In the past 12 months, we have launched nine new specialty lines of business, allowing us to deliver niche, customer-centric products that bring innovation and flexibility to placements, prioritising the needs of both our broker customers and direct clients.

Industry Leading Talent

At the heart of our growth is our team. We have attracted some of the market’s leading specialists, expanding our expertise and ensuring we can deliver the best solutions. Each division is packed with the top talent in its niche, meaning we can communicate our risk appetite to the right target clients.

One of our standout achievements was acquiring Securus, bringing market leading risk management services for niche lines in-house. In addition, we launched our proprietary portfolio optimisation tool, ADA, giving our MGA clients deeper insights into portfolio optimisation, helping them secure, protect and grow their relationships with capacity providers.

This nomination for Lloyd’s Broker of the Year reflects the entrepreneurial and collaborative culture we have built at Consilium. It is a nod to the hard work and passion of our team who relentlessly pursue excellence despite the challenges of a highly competitive market.
