Let us take you back.
The year is 1996 and a young David Bearman (our Group CEO) has just taken the bold decision to launch retail broker Direct Insurance (as we were known back then) with a commitment to succeed in classes where improvement was desperately needed.
It all started with Waste & Recycling. Historically an underserved market, we recognised that we could raise the standards in this class, and help clients who had previously been neglected by the insurance industry, quickly establishing a reputation for both unparalleled service and razor-sharp attention to detail.
But of course, the story doesn’t end here, we launched a wholesale scheme in 2007 providing a credible alternative to UK brokers for Waste & Recycling business.
Our commitment to raising the bar across Waste & Recycling has enabled us to keep attracting the, most knowledgeable brokers in the class to our business, and earned us the complete trust of all our capacity partners.
We have refined our focus, working alongside capacity partners to craft bespoke, comprehensive policies; and with brokers, utilising our deep expertise of risk management to minimise losses for their end clients. It’s in this position where we feel our skills are most effective.
While we now excel in placing a diverse range of business lines into the London market, we have never let up on staying at the cutting edge of Waste & Recycling. This is so we can continually keep our brokers updated on how they should be advising their clients, thus helping them to retain the business at renewal.
Having done such good work in this space for so long, we have built up more and more close relationships in the market, enabling us to place the wide variety of risks which you can learn more about here. Our specialist scheme covers a broad range of property exposures in the sector and our relationships in the London Market provides extensive options for Liability and Motor Fleet.
Our approach is built on listening to what our brokers need, and using our skills and connections in the London market to develop a solution that ultimately helps them win or retain business.
Our team have proven time and again over the last 26 years that they can and do make the difference on Waste & Recycling risks, so if you have a client in this sector that needs specialist cover, talk to us, and see what solutions we can find.
